This ride starts at the edge of the Gallatin National Forest in Sedan, MT. It starts out heading West, past an old homestead, across a long boardwalk, and then a left/South onto Carroll Creek Rd (dirt/gravel FS road) towards Fairy Lake Rd. It crosses a lower portion of Fairy Lake Rd onto Fairy Creek Trail which heads West to Fairy Lake. From Fairy Lake you head North towards the upper part of Fairy Lake Rd, through the lake parking lot onto the road, and then left onto the Shafthouse Trail. Follow the Shafthouse trail in a North/Northeast direction eventually coming back to and crossing Carroll Creek road, continuing on the trail over the boardwalk, past the homestead, and back to the trailhead.
