The Groom Creek Horse Campground was designed for horse campers and day users and is located in beautiful, pine covered, high elevation country in one of the most popular recreation areas in Arizona in the Bradshaw Ranger District of the Prescott National Forest.
The horse campground area has been recently renovated with 12 new corrals, tie-lines relocated and 2 additional water outlets added. Both a volunteer host and a volunteer custodian are on duty to assist visitors at the camp. This campground is quite large and suitable for even the largest RVs.
This is a great place with well maintained and traveled trails leading to the Haciampa creek to the south and west and trail 307 to the east. Trail 307 climbs to the Spruce Mountain lookout then loops back to the day use area on the East side of Old Senator Hwy (Mt. Vernon Avenue).
