Grant Creek Horse Camp and Recreation Area was designated by the Beltrami County Board on August 6, 2013.

The camp area itself covers approximately 9 acres and provides access to over 42 miles of trail riding opportunity through a variety of terrain and timber types.

The horse camp is located approximately 6 miles west of Bemidji, Minnesota. It offers multiple camp sites with trailer parking (not pull through), picnic tables, fire rings, tie lines, and a manure pit and vault toilet. A high capacity well, with hand pump and generator hook-up, was installed in 2014 and a sheltered picnic area was built in 2015. Development and enhancements to the area are ongoing with the involvement of various local groups and State organizations.

Although fire rings are provided for the purpose of building campfires, firewood is not provided and should be brought by campers for personal use.

Because firewood can harbor invasive insect species that can harm live trees in Beltrami County we ask that you:
1. Do not bring any ash firewood as the emerald ash borer is a nonnative insect that destroys ash trees.
2. If you bring firewood with you, please burn it all or take it with you when you leave. Do not leave firewood for the next visitor.
3. If you would like to purchase firewood from an approved DNR vender, please visit http://www.dnr.state.mn.us/firewood_vendors/vendors/list.html and type in the name of a State park near Grant Creek Horse Camp in the “Facility” window. Selecting “Itasca State Park” or “Beltrami Island State Forest” will provide vendors located in Bemidji.
