Dunns Creek State Park is 6,300 acres of pristine, old Florida. It is bound by dynamic and contrasting natural features ranging from a steephead ravine to the Dunns Creek floodplain. These unique features provide impressive vistas. Six miles of Dunns Creek border one side of the park. It is situated in Pomona Park. Other nearby towns include Crescent City on Crescent Lake and Palatka on the St. Johns River, a National Heritage River.

Bring your own horse and enjoy a day’s ride thru four miles of distinct natural communities; including sandhills, mesic flatwoods, baygall and seepage slope.

There are four (4) marked trails within Dunns Creek State Park. All equestrian trails start on the Yellow Trail located at the Blue Pond entrance. Because these trails are multi-use, be prepared to meet the occasional hiker, bicyclist or park vehicle. Horses and riders are required to stay on the designated trails. Horse riders are required to have proof of negative Coggins.

  • There is not potable water at this site. Please be kind to other users and do not clean out horse trailers in the parking lot.
  • Please ride responsibly and respect the park and wildlife. The park closes at sundown and you must exit the park at that time, so please plan your ride accordingly. The trails are located in a wilderness area. Please take water, a compass and a map when taking the trails. Follow trail markers.
