Each year I try to put into words what you will encounter on this ride, and each year I only come up with the same superlatives! We will ride out of the Fairgrounds onto the property of Lanier Frantz. He has made available about 1200 acres of well-groomed two track and wooded trails, with small creeks and great mountain views. Boots or shoes are recommended simply because some of the creek beds are a little rocky, but the trails, fields and farm roads all have excellent footing. We will ride a different trail on Saturday and Sunday, and there are additional trails if you want to go back out on your own. There is also swimming in the creek (for horses and riders!), canoeing, kayaking, hiking, mountain biking, ETC.,ETC.,ETC.! This is a trail riders paradise--great footing, plenty of water, no mountainous climbs but outstanding mountain views, natural obstacles and a wonderful group of people with whom to share the trails. This is our fourth year, and each year it just gets more fun!
