Ramona Grasslands and Vineyards CTC

This is a relatively urban ride! Some trails will go down rural residential streets and one busy road crossing is unavoidable. Assistance is provided at the road crossing. We are working to add trail to this ride and anticipate that it will be about 7.5 miles in total. The ride will wander down trail that includes two local wineries, that you may wish to wander back to later in the afternoon. Then we direct you to the Ramona Grasslands preserve that features a 3.5 mile loop trail through grassland, riparian areas, oak woodland and coastal chaparral. We anticipate a course of 6-8 obstacles ranging from easy to challenging. How those are defined may differ from horse to horse! Return to camp where lunch is available. During and after lunch while points are being tabulated, we offer an introduction to the sport of endurance riding. Learn the basics of endurance competition and decide if stepping up to some longer rides might be something to try.
