Early registration or volunteering is the only way to get a shirt they are Not for sale. This is where WV beauty meets fun riding. A few days prior to the first official day of spring! So come celebrate! Spring is coming and we are going to Green up the trails with St. Patties day fun! Yummy Food!!! NEW TRAIL: Planning to hopefully use a completely different trail than we have ever used at Lake Stephens before! If all goes well, no matter how many times you have ridden here before, you will get to see lots of new things! You don't want to miss this and entries are limited so sign up today! PRIZES: In addition to ribbons for winners and judges pick awards,EVERYONE will get something at this ride regardless of if you place or not. THE TRAIL: This is 6 miles WV trail riding with some beautiful Lake views and a large variety of footing including a little asphalt (parade practice). Horses used to trail riding barefoot should be fine but shoes or boots are recommended. Saddle bags, helmets,and breast collars are recommended but not required. Helmets are required for ALL riders under 18. THIS IS GOING TO BE A FUN WEEKEND!! All uneaten hay and manure must be thrown into woods before you leave. Trash goes in trash cans. Don't forget current coggins(all horses)and health certificates(out of state only). CAMPING: The trail head both days will be near the primative horse trailer/tent camping area. All horses must be overnighted in the this primitive trailer camping area either tied to the trailer or in your portable panel, solar, or generator powered corrals. The lake charges $22 per night per trailer for this, regardless of if you are sleeping in the trailer or not. There will be porta poties there. Camp sites must be left as you found them. Limited number of cabins are available for rent a quarter of a mile away from where the horses will be overnighted. Cabins must be reserved in advance by calling host. THE FACILITY: The Park does not officially open until May 1st and much of the trail we will be on, horses can't ever use normally so we are getting a special and early pass so be sure to thank them for letting us ACTHA horse people have this ride at such a great facility!
