About
TWO ACTHA RIDES THIS WEEKEND - Separate sign up is REQUIRED FOR EACH DAY. Sign up for the first ACTHA ride under February 14 ride date. Ride one or both days! The town of Bumble Bee was originally founded in 1864 as part of the main route between Phoenix and Prescott. It was a stage stop along the trip between the two cities. You will travel through the Bumble Bee Creek lined with tall cottonwood trees, then up to the foothills of the beautiful and historical Bradshaw Mountains. Bumble Bee, Cleator, Crown King and the Bradshaw Mountains are a colorful part of Arizona's mining industry. Along the way, you will be in the upper Sonoran Desert riding through saguaro, palo verde and mesquite while enjoying some of the best views in Arizona. The terrain is varied - there are hills, ravines, canyons, washes and rocky places; shoes or boots are highly suggested. There is a farrier on property for a fee should a problem arise. We will have use of the pavilion located on Bumble Bee Ranch. We have added the Pleasure/Open Pairs Prize (POP)to our ride. An open rider will be randomly paired with pleasure rider and their scores will be added and the highest scoring "pair" will win cash. The open rider does not have to ride with the "their" pleasure rider. But we encourage camaraderie and helping each other along the way. $5.00 to participate.
