Gifford Pinchot National Forest, Naches Ranger District
Rimrock, Washington (Scroll over map for more info)
Conrad Meadows is located adjacent to the Goat Rocks Wilderness and offers a primitive horse camping and riding opportunities through broad, grassy meadows in the valley bottom-to the high alpine lakes at trail's end.
Surprise Lake, Warm Lake, and Cirque Lake all lie above the meadows for those intrepid enough to find them.
The first portion of the trails thread through patchwork wildflower meadows, but the upper end of the route is enclosed in dense forests until, near Surprise lake, the route breaks out into alpine clearings. Above the pretty lakes loom some of the great craggy peaks that give the Goat Rocks Wilderness its name. Devils Horns, Gilbert Peak and more offer awe inspiring views.
The main camping / parking is located in a large open area on private property so please be extra vigilant in your LNT efforts. Stock water is close to camp via the Tieton River. UFFS vault Toilets are found nearby at the trailhead. No potable water.
