Nikon D300

I love this
camera!
even though
I've had a few images published and have even
given a class or two on outdoor photography I'd
call myself an amateur photographer.
The D300
fits the bill to a tee for what I use it for. I
can use it as a point and shoot if I need while
at the same time if I want to really try to
create a nice image the D300 has the umph to do
it.
The
Pros: Great images; The battery lasts
forever (I forgot my charger over Christmas and
was still able to take over 700 shots, including
much looking at images, deleting etc. - I was
shocked at how long it lasted); It takes
wonderful low light pictures.
The
Cons: She's heavy. The sensor is a DX, that
means the it is slightly smaller than 35mm which
makes for a smaller angle of view. Related to
that are the relatively small number of DX
specific lenses available. Try to find a super
wide angle DX lens.
For me the
D300 is the ticket and remains the best
Christmas gift ever!
