Frogg Toggs
For staying dry I cannot say enough good things about my Frogg Toggs. I was impressed enough with them that I bought a second set for my wife, so she would stop taking mine!
I haven’t yet found a better foul weather garment than my Frogg Toggs. I’ve worn mine often in the torrential rains of the Pacific Northwest and have always stayed dry and comfortable. The material resembles Tyvek but is three layers of polypropylene material that is waterproof, windproof, and significantly more breathable than my Goretex gear. Extremely lightweight (the entire suit top and bottom weighs just 15 ounces) but also fairly durable, I’ve worn mine hiking on many occasions and have yet to find a rip or tear, although I would be hesitant to do any serious off trail hiking or bushwacking. Frogg Toggs are very utilitarian garments and have zero frills or bells and whistles. You won’t find pit zips or fashionable pockets in Frogg Toggs, in fact you won’t find any pockets or other frills that can allow water or wind through.
